History / Significance of Teddy Day
Teddy’s name comes from the 26th President of the United States – Theodore Tedd’s Roosevelt. In 1902, when the President went hunting, he couldn’t find a bear, and then his assistant captured a bear so he could shoot.
But he denied it, the story became the headlines, and then a famous cartoonist Berryman, made a cartoon about the story,
Seeing the cartoon, a candy shop owner made a stuffed toy bear and called it “Teddy’s Bear” to give a tribute to President Roosevelt.
Teddies, later on, become a lovely gesture to gift. It was not only popular among kids but among couples as well. The warmth and joyful feeling it gives the partner makes them remember their partner’s love and emotion.
