The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued a notice regarding the refund fee process of exams conducted in 2019 for Level 1 posts. The candidates who could not appear for the examination can update their bank details and claim their refund, read the article to know what you have to do to claim the refund.

The RRB has issued the notice of CEN No. RRC- 01/2019 (level 1 Posts) examination refund fees multiple times in the past. Now, in continuation of the RRBs notice dates 13 April 2023, 21 April 2023, and 3 May 2023, the board has again issued a notice on 25 April 2024 for re-updation of Bank account details. 

According to the board, a large number of candidates could not receive their refund fee of CEN RRC -01/2019 due to incorrect or incomplete bank details. The board has further said that this is the last opportunity for all the candidates who are seeking a refund to update their bank details and receive the refund.

Important Reminder Verify bank details for refund success

Some candidates who have paid the examination fee through a Debit/Credit card, UPI, or Internet banking should also update their bank details because if these services are changed or closed as we are talking about five years back transaction, the board will be unable to get your bank details to process the refund. 

According to the notice the window to re-update the bank details is opened from 26 April 2024 at 10:00 AM. The last date to update your bank details is 5 May 2024 at 5:00 PM on the official website of RRBs. 

RRB CEN 01/2019 Refund Amount

The refund amount can vary as per the application fee was decided according to the category of candidates. The candidates will receive a refund of the application fee they paid as per their category at the time when they applied for CEN RRC 01/2019. 

So, candidates from the Unreserved category (UR) will receive ₹500 in their updated bank accounts and the candidates from the reserved category will receive ₹250. 

How does the RRB CEN 01/2019 refund process work?

According to the short notice released by the RRB, the candidates who did not receive the refund against the CEN RRC-01/2019 examination will receive an SMS or an email on their contact number and email address registered during the application of CEN 01/2019.

The candidates must have access to their registered mobile number or email address to receive the notification and complete the OTP validation to activate the refund process. 

The refund will be processed to the account of the candidates after the deduction of bank charges and verification of the candidates in the RRB records.

The board requests the candidates to ensure the bank details and IFSC code submitted to the board are correct & valid as after such a long period many banks are merged and their IFSC codes have been changed, so the candidates must confirm their bank details and new or fresh IFSC code (if any) to ensure the refund process to their accounts.

The Board only allows one refund per bank account to ensure every candidate receives the refund. 

Steps to re-update your RRB Refund fee against CEN 01/2019

The link for re-updation of bank details for CEN No. RRC -01/2019 candidates have been opened and candidates can follow the below steps to update their bank details:

  • Go to your regional official website RRB. 
  • Next, navigate to the notification section and click on Refund of Examination Fee- Re-updation of Bank account details dated 25 April 2024.
  • Now, enter your Register Number & DOB, and the security code given on the page to Log in to the portal. 
  • Next, after the OTP verification, update your bank details on the portal. 
  • Once you update your bank details, review it once more and submit it on the portal. 

The candidates who come under the CEN RRC 01/2019 refund process must update their bank details before the deadline of 5 May 2024 as this is the last chance to receive a refund

RRB has clearly stated in the notice they will not entertain late and incomplete claims in this regard and will not be responsible for the failure of a refund, so make sure your bank details are valid & correct.
