NUA-O Scholarship Odisha: Benefits, Eligibility, How to Apply?

Recently, the Odisha government announced a Nua-O-scholarship for undergraduate and postgraduate students to empower students. The scholarship is a great initiative under the Nutana Unnata Abhilasha (NUA) Odisha scheme. Let’s know what the students will get under this scholarship.

NUA-O Scholarship

The government of Odisha announced another opportunity for the youth of Odisha after they introduced an interest-free loan of Rs 1 Lakh to 1,00,000 unemployed rural youths. They aimed to empower and give them initial financial support to start their own business. 

Now, the government of Odisha has unveiled another opportunity for the youth of Odisha who are undergraduate or postgraduate. 

According to the new announcement, the state government will offer a scholarship under the NUA (Nutana Unnata Abhilasha) scheme to all eligible students. 

The scholarship aims to empower youth and assist them in learning new skills and acquiring knowledge that will help them in building their career.

Recently, the chairperson of 5 T (transformational initiative), V K Pandian addressed the students at the Nu-O festival, where he spoke about the scholarship amounting to Rs 9000 to male students every year and Rs 10,000 to female students annually.

Nua-O Scholarship Benefits 

CM Naveen Patnaik has decided that the male students will get Rs 9,000 annually and female students will get Rs 10,000 annually under this scholarship.  

The male students who come from SC/ ST and Nirman Shramik families will receive Rs 10,000 and the female students of a similar category will get Rs 11,000.

For the current academic year, the government stated that the scholarship will be deposited in the bank accounts of the targeted beneficiaries between February 20 and February 25, 2024.

The government of Odisha expects that from this scholarship around 4.5 lakh undergraduates and 32,000 postgraduate students will be benefited.

Who is eligible for the Odisha Nua-O Scholarship?

As the scholarship comes under the NUA scheme of the Odisha government, it is expected to cover all 30 districts of the state, especially the aspirational, remote, and tribal districts of Odisha.

According to the government of Odisha, the scholarship will be granted to all the students who are enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in any state university, be it government or non-government institutes. The initiative also includes Sanskrit college students under the Higher Education Department.

Students whose guardians or parents are government employees working in any state or central government office and pay income tax will not be eligible for the scholarship.

Magic Smart Card For undergraduate and Postgraduate students 

The government of Odisha has declared that they will introduce a Magic Smart card for the beneficiary’s students, to provide them with more benefits such as access to free WiFi, bus or train travel, skill development programs enrollment, online courses, and other upskilling opportunities that can help them in their career goals.

Under the NUA scheme, the students can learn many skills as they have partnered with many great education programs such as Microsoft, IBM, Coursera, Autodesk, TATA, NIIT, and many others.

According to the government authorities, a collection of Rs 300 crore will be set aside, and the students will receive the Magic Smart Card by August 2024.

How to Apply for the Nua-O Scholarship?

The eligible students can go to the website of the state scholarship portal of the Odisha Government and apply for the scholarship. 

Or you can inquire about the scholarship in your college.

You will need your Aadhar card, bank account details, and other category documents with you when you apply for the scholarship.  

Remember when you apply, fill in all the information carefully, so your application will get approved and the amount will be deposited in your account only.

The Odisha government scholarship initiative for students will open a door to upskilling and learning. It’s a great investment in the future of the youth of Odisha and enhancement of the human resources of Odisha.

  2. Hello, I am sourav padhan. I am belong to odisha district and currently I am studying in rajendra university, Bolangir. I am belong to a lower middle class family and my father annual income is less than 80000. Above this situation presented beside my name is not coming in NUA-O scholarship. Apart from that I am eligible for this scholarship according scholarship requirement but still than my name is not coming. Why?? I am very upset.please check and apart from that same situation facing many Lower family of students and their name also not coming in list. Please again send list.
    That’s my positive opnion against NUA-O scholarship.

This is completely unfair , government is providing this scholarship to those students whose parents are government employees and to them who have already received other scholarships but not to us because of the post matric scholarship. Government should provide this scholarship to every student or should only provide to those students whose parents aren’t government and they even haven’t received any other scholarships . We even need scholarships for our study expenditures, hostel expenses and other things. So , I request to please provide scholarships to every students.

    • Bro what are you reading?You are completely wrong that the scholarship is for students whose parents are Govt. employees.They are not eligible for this scholarship only students whose parents are not govt. employees are eligible.The govt. should provide fund to all students irrespective of their services. Naveen is fucking with us as well as Pandyan.

  6. i am in +3 , my family is neither a govt. job holder nor a tax payer. but the list issued in my college has no name of mine . so what can i do to avail this scholarship under NUA O.

  8. but why always me ? my name was not in the list why ? and nobody in my family are in any govt empolyee ever , this is not the only one scholarships there are more where im not eligible to get .
    Is that any bug in my name or i’m just unlucky
