UP Scholarship Status
The UP Scholarship is an initiative by the UP government to cover the educational expenses of students studying classes 9-10 and 11-12 whose family income comes in at a lower income threshold, so they can focus solely on their education rather than worrying about the expenses.
The UP Scholarship is available for all fresh and renewal students of pre-matric and post-matric candidates. The UP scholarship is also available for students outside the states but studying in UP schools.
The students who applied for the 2023-24 UP scholarship last year can check the status of their UP scholarship application to know the disbursal of their scholarship. In the next section, you can read the steps to check the UP scholarship status.
The candidates who wish to apply for the UP scholarship will be able to apply after the government opens the portal for this year, which we expect around October 2024.
Steps to check the UP scholarship status
The applicants can check their UP scholarship status on the following steps:
- Go to the official website of UP scholarship at https://scholarship.up.gov.in/
- Now, look for Status on the header of the webpage and click on Application status for 2023-24.
- Next, enter your registration number, DOB, and captcha code in the respective boxes.
- Next, tap on the Search button to see your UP scholarship application status.
The applicants can see at which stage their UP scholarship applications have come from the time of applications. The authority will notify you in case of any error in the application when they review your application and give you enough time to reapply for the UP scholarship.
Steps to check payment status through PFMS
Applicants can their payment status through the PFMS website in the following steps:
- Go to the UP scholarship website mentioned above.
- Navigate to “Click to know your payment Status” on the right-hand side corner of the webpage or directly go to the PFMS website.
- Next, enter your Bank, account number, and patch code in the boxes.
- Now, click on Send OTP on the registered number for OTP verification.
- After the verification, you will be able to see your UP Scholarship payment status on your screen.
The candidates must complete their Aadhar seeding to receive their payment timely from the authority.
Amount of scholarship you will receive in the UP scholarship
Under the UP scholarship, the applicants will get enough scholarship amount according to their category. The applicants can check the following amount they will receive when their application gets approved by the authority:

The applicants who applied for the post-matric SC/ST UP scholarship will get their payment disbursed on their account on 28 June 2024. According to the government notice, the applicants of the Gen/OBC Minority community must have received the UP scholarship payment of Post Matric by 22 March 2024 and the Pre-matric scholarship by 15 March 2024.
Registration process for UP Scholarship
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria of the UP scholarship, that is, UP residents, a family income limit that may vary according to the category can apply for the upcoming UP scholarship application.
The freshers and other state and renewal students can apply for the UP scholarship in the following steps:
- Go to the official website of the UP scholarship mentioned above.
- Now, register yourself on the portal through your mobile number, email address, and other required information.
- After the Aadhar authentication, access the application form on the portal, and enter all the required information.
- Next, submit the form carefully after reviewing all the details on the portal.
After you submit your application, your application will be verified by institutions, followed by application review by NIC, and then it will be verified by the District Welfare Committee. After the final approval, the authority will disburse the final funds every month to the account of the applicants.
