History and Origin of International Women’s Day 2024

The 1st National Women’s Day was observed in the US on 28th Feb 1909, following the declaration by the American Socialist Party. 

In 1910, at the international conference of working women conducted in Copenhagen, Clara Zetkin proposed establishing a yearly Women’s Day to advocate for women’s suffrage and rights. 

The proposal was met through unanimous approval, leading to 1st International Women’s Day being celebrated in 1911 with huge people across different countries like Austria, Germany, etc.
